BMI Goes Mobile

Full access to web site available on many smartphones

Musicians, songwriters and everyone else in the BMI world now need never be more than a smartphone away from song licensing or any other BMI info.

BMI has “mobile-optimized” its website for use with iPhone, Android, Symbian, Palm and soon-to-be-released BlackBerry 6.0 platforms.

What that means is that the Web site detects the browser accessing it provides an optimal page so incessant scrolling or missing elements should be less of a problem for smartphone users.

BMI President and CEO Del Bryant said: “We know that tens of thousands of visitors to BMI.com already access information via smart phones… This is a logical step to enable our Web visitors to discover the information on BMI’s business, its members, licensing processes, and over 200 sponsored events.”

Perhaps more importantly, BMI is doing the same things with the online sections for accessing things such as royalty numbers. That is scheduled for a late June release.
