Some of Bob Edwards’ show for XM Satellite Radio is making it back onto FM.
The satcaster and Public Radio International are co-producing a compilation of clips from Edwards’ daily shows and packaging them as “Bob Edwards Weekend” for airing on public stations. The companies say the effort is the first time that programming originating on satellite radio is being aired by broadcast radio.
“The Bob Edwards Show” debuted on XM in 2004 after he and NPR parted ways.
WNYC, New York Public Radio, for example, plans to begin airing the show Feb. 25 on 93.9 FM and via the Web.
