The Music Group, parent of audio equipment manufacturer Behringer, this month announced plans for the acquisition of the Midas and Klark-Teknik brands from Germany-based electronics conglomerate Bosch Communications Systems.
Bosch had obtained the brands with its purchase of Telex in 2006. The closing of the deal is expected in January.
Midas is a console maker focusing on live sound and installation markets while Klark-Teknik is a maker of processors in those markets. Both companies have respected reputations, with Midas having a 40-year background in making consoles.
Bosch Senior Vice President Robert Mulatz explained the selling of the two brands: “Within the professional audio business of Bosch, this niche market has not been defined as a core business area due to its size and specific requirements.”
According to a press release, The Music Group plans to retain all 100+ current employees of Midas and Klark-Teknik.
