The magazine Broadcast Engineering will cease publication after 54 years, according to a post on its website.
The post said publication would stop effective Oct. 31.
“While this is a difficult reality to face, many factors contributed to the closing: changes within the broadcast and production industry, the economy and the overall decline in ad revenue that many magazine publishers are facing.”
Broadcast Engineering in recent years was aimed at corporate and technical management at commercial and public TV stations, post-production and recording studios, broadcast networks and related organizations. Based in Overland Park, Kan., it was produced in print and digital editions. It was part of Penton, which has publications in numerous market sectors. Brad Dick was its longtime and most recent editor.
