BroadcastAsia Preps for 2013 Edition

Conference programs, technical exhibition and more

BroadcastAsia 2013 will be held June 18-21 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. This year’s event will also feature Creative Content Production conference, held concurrently at the same location June 19-20.

The conference’s theme is “Enhancing User Experience, Monetizing Content,” which is reflected throughout the sessions and workshops.

Highlights for radio professionals include sessions about cloud-based broadcasting and media asset management, as well as one focused on infrastructure and transmission issues unique to Asia. A general half-day workshop on “Emerging vs. Developed Regions — Business Models to Monetize Content” may also be of interest.

The fourth year of the Creative Content Production conference is focused on “Producing and Distributing Successful Content in Asia.” Relevant sessions consider content development and distribution, funding and the role of branded content.

Conference speakers include Mock Pak Lum, the chief technology officer for StarHub; Youtube’s APAC Head of Partner Marketing Benjamin Grubbs; Irdeto CEO Graham Kill; and Dato Amrin Awaluddin, Media Prima Berhad’s group managing director. There will be 120 speakers in all, representing 31 different countries.

Broadcast Asia 2013 is also playing host to “ProfessionalAudioTechnology2013,” which sets the stage for professional audio companies to showcase their latest audio products and services for broadcasting, including audio editing, audio effects, audio production, music and sound libraries, and digital radio.
