The Broadcasters Foundation of America announced the appointment of Carl Butrum to the position of vice president. He will be responsible for planning and carrying out fundraising development and events.
Butrum is no stranger to broadcast foundations. Most recently he was president of the John Bayliss Broadcast Foundation, devoted to awarding radio scholarships to interested students.
Butrum has held executive positions with Hispanic Broadcasting Corp., Katz Media Group and Eastman Radio.
President of the Broadcasters Foundation of America Jim Thompson said, “We are challenged with finding creative, new ways of generating funds, and I am confident that with Carl’s talent and background we will accelerate our ability to help those in our industry who need it most.”
Butrum said, “The foundation’s major events are well-known and we can expand on that to build new programs that give the larger broadcast community a way to participate and contribute.”
The Broadcasters Foundation of America focuses on helping individual broadcast personnel in need.
