The late Rick Buckley, former president and CEO of Buckley Broadcasting, will be honored posthumously at the Broadcasters Foundation of America breakfast event during this year’s NAB Show.
The Lowry Mays Excellence in Broadcasting Award will be presented in his memory at the Wynn Hotel on the morning of April 18. The award “honors an individual in broadcasting whose work exemplifies innovation, community service, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.”
Buckley passed unexpectedly this past July from a brain embolism. The Rick Buckley Memorial Fund was established shortly thereafter, providing financial aid to broadcasters and their families in times of need.
A respected broadcaster, Rick Buckley ran Buckley Broadcasting for over four decades. He also served as Chairman of the Board of the Radio Advertising Bureau and as Chair of the Southern California Broadcaster’s Association.
