Buckley Radio Accelerates Digital Rollout

Buckley Radio has joined other major radio broadcast groups supporting HD Radio technology with a plan to convert most of its stations to digital over the next three years. Today, four Buckley stations are licensed to broadcast with IBOC: KWAV(FM), Monterey, Calif.; WDRC(FM), Hartford, Conn.; WOR(AM), New York; and WSEN(FM), Syracuse, N.Y. We’re reported WOR, an early Ibiquity test station, has already converted, while the other stations in this group plan to convert their facilities to HD Radio shortly.
“Our ability to leverage the HD Radio digital platform to deliver more news, information, and music programming at no additional charge to our listeners will provide a value that no subscription-based service can match,” said Buckley Radio President Richard Buckley.
The independently owned and operated Buckley Radio has 19 radio properties as well as the syndicated program provider, the WOR Radio Network.
