Burdick Named NABPAC Trustee

Schurz Communications SVP joins political action committee

Marci Burdick, senior vice president of broadcasting for Schurz Communications, has been named a trustee of NABPAC, the political action committee of the National Association of Broadcasters.

“Serving as a NABPAC trustee is one of the most important things I can do to support local radio and TV stations,” said Burdick.

Burdick has been in her current position with Schurz since February 2003. In this capacity, she is responsible for supervising the company’s 11 radio stations, 10 television stations and three cable companies. Her previous positions at Schurz include television vice president, president and general manager of WAGT(TV) in Augusta, Ga., and news director at KYTV(TV), Springfield, Mo. She was also the anchor and news director at KOTA(TV) and KEVN(TV) in her hometown of Rapid City, S.D.

Burdick is a past chair of the NAB Television Board and the past president and chairman of the NBC Affiliates Association, and currently serves as vice chair of the CBS Affiliate Board. She is a past national chairwoman of the Radio Television News Directors Association, and was a trustee of its foundation for a decade.

Burdick joins Meredith Local Media Group President Paul Karpowicz who was named a trustee last week.
