Burk Technology said it won a contract to supply 200 of its GSC3000 transmitter remote control units to the U.S. Coast Guard. The systems will be used to monitor and control solid-state Long Range Navigation (LORAN) transmitter facilities, which provide position information for mariners and aviators. The system includes software for PC-based monitoring, control and customized logging. The company declined comment on the value of the contract; government budget records put the value at $636,000.
