Burk Technology says its ARC Plus broadcast facility control system now allows remote access via Web-enabled cell phones and PDAs. Devices with Web access can monitor transmitter readings and allow remote operations to review alarms, issue commands and run macros without a PC.
With mobile connectivity in the Web server, ARC Plus users gain a dashboard-style monitoring and control interface complementing front-panel and PC-based control, according to the company.
Dial-up access via telephone remains unchanged, providing a backup for IP connectivity. The ARC Plus is backwards compatible so ARC-16 transmitter control systems connected to the ARC Plus also are accessible via the mobile interface.
Mobile Web accessibility is shipping with new ARC Plus systems. Current users can upgrade for free by visiting the support section at www.burk.com.
