President Bush has submitted a budget that proposes $313 million in funding for the FCC for fiscal 2008, and $303 million for fiscal year 2007.
Part of the funds would be used to promote broadband deployment, the radio and TV digital transition and the reliability of the communications infrastructure.
The president is also suggesting a $110 million cut in funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, from $460 million in 2006 to $350 million in 2008.
