Sacramento, California-based Bustos Media Corp. has purchased eight stations from Butterfield in Washington for about $6.7 million. The stations are: Serving the Yakima/Sunnyside area: KZTA 96.9 (FM), KYXE 1020 (AM) and KZTS 1210 (AM). Serving Wenatchee, Moses Lake, and Ephrata: KZML 95.9 (FM), KULE 92.3 (FM) and KULE 730 (AM). Serving the Tri-Cities of Pasco, Richland and Kennewick, plus Walla Walla are: KZTB 96.7 (FM) and KZZM 101.9 (FM).
With this purchase, Bustos has acquired 15 radio stations in less than a year.
KULE(FM) has a Country format while KULE(AM) is Hot Talk. Both of these stations will stay in their respective English formats, according to Bustos.
Company President/CEO Amador Bustos said the acquisition is strategic “because it complements our most recent purchases in Seattle and Portland. This purchase of stations is not only our single biggest to date, but will also give us enviable coverage of the Hispanic markets in the entire Northwest.”
Bustos had sold KZTA to Butterfield 10 years ago.
