BW Broadcast showed three new models of RDS encoders at NAB2007: RDS1, RDS2 and RDS3.
With the RDS1, basic RDS parameters can be controlled by the four-button front panel, which includes an LCD display screen and intuitive user interface, and does not require a computer for setup or operation. Basic RDS information can be transmitted such as program type, identification and service information.
Up to 8,000 characters of named program service information can be programmed into the RDS2, which also supports scrolling and timed text for a range of transmission capabilities. Windows-based programming can occur directly or by satellite connection.
RDS3 features TCP/IP connectivity, 10baseT Ethernet port and an embedded Web server, and supports the TCP/IP, Telnet, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP and MIB integration network protocols. Song title and artist text from the automation program can be wrapped into the text and configured into an HTML Web page.
