Cahill to Return to CPB Board

She’s former president, vice president, Corporation for Public Broadcasting

The Senate confirmed Patricia Cahill to the board of directors for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

CPB is a private, nonprofit corporation created by Congress as the steward of federal monies in public broadcasting.

Cahill retired as general manager of KCUR(FM), Kansas City, Mo. Prior to KCUR, she worked as a reporter, news director, and general manager of KMUW(FM), Wichita, Kan., where she was also an instructor in speech communications and journalism. She has also been president of membership organization Public Radio in Mid America and on the NPR board.

This is her second time on the CPB board; Cahill was board chair from 2012 to 2014 and vice chair from 2011 to 2012. She first became a CPB board member in 2009.

Her new term will expire in 2020.
