Hertz airport rental customers in California and Florida will be able to get cars with Sirius Satellite Radios beginning Dec. 1. Sirius and Hertz will initially make available approximately 20,000 Sirius units for renters of Ford Motor Company’s Taurus, Windstar, Expedition, Explorer, Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis models. The cost is $5 extra per customer.
Initially, Hertz customers will be able to request a Sirius radio in their rental at the counter. Beginning Jan. 1, customers will be able to reserve a rental with the Sirius option through all booking channels.
Sirius and Hertz plan to target potential users of the new program with co-marketing and direct mail campaigns, along with Sirius signage at Hertz rental locations. Sirius and Hertz plan to expand this program to additional markets in the United States.
“Sirius takes the guess work out of finding high quality music, information and entertainment when a customer drives a Hertz rental for business or pleasure, and it’s a perfect fit with our other service-oriented innovations,” said Brian Kennedy, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Hertz.
