California Noncom Partners With MBD to Drive Donations

Real estate broker uses the broker referral fee to make a donation to organization selected by home buyer or seller

Sacramento, Calif.-based Capital Public Radio is partnering with My Broker Donates to nudge listeners to generate donations when they buy or sell a home.

My Broker Donates helps home buyers and sellers find a realtor and channels broker referral fees into donations for nonprofit organizations.

Capital Public Radio is airing four rotating underwriting announcements to garner attention for the new fundraising service.

The announcements air on Capital Public Radio’s seven noncommercial stations: KXPR(FM) 88.9 and KXJZ(FM) 90.9, both in Sacramento; KXSR(FM) 91.7, Groveland; KKTO(FM) 90.5, Tahoe/Reno; KXJS(FM) 88.7, Sutter/Yuba City; KQNC(FM) 88.1, Quincy and KUP(FM) 91.3, Stockton/Modesto.

The broadcaster also has included My Broker Donates in emails to supporters, and on its Website.

My Broker Donates connects home buyers and sellers with up to three real estate agents. When the deal closes, MBD uses the broker referral fee to make a donation to an organization selected by that home buyer or seller. On a home sale of $500,000, for example, the contribution is more than $2,000, according to MBD.
