Calling All Apprentices

Program hopes to help more of them hear ‘You’re hired’

The deadline to apply for the six-month Technology Apprenticeship Program we told you about earlier has been extended a few days.

The program is being offered by the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF). The goal is to expose 10 high-tech graduates and professionals to the broadcast industry.

Highlights include a two-month, hands-on apprenticeship at a radio or TV station, and a three-day training program at a technology manufacturer. The apprentices also get registration to the NAB Show, participation in a training webinar from NAB and SBE, and training at NAB headquarters from the NAB Science and Technology department.

College and technical school seniors, recent graduates and people seeking to enter the broadcast industry are encouraged to put in their names. Applicants must have experience or training in IT, digital technologies, broadcast engineering or other related areas. The deadline to apply is March 11.
