With Catholic radio testing its wings more these days, the 2009 Global Catholic Radio Conference may draw some attention. The event is scheduled for Oct. 14–17 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Ala.
Top of the schedule is a vendor expo for product demonstrations and a tech lab for practical production tips. Also to be heard is an update on the latest from the FCC and other legal issues of interest to broadcasters.
Sessions will include examinations of regulatory compliance, buying a radio station, station marketing and promotion, fundraising and community outreach.
The conference is taking place in cooperation with the Catholic Radio Association and the EWTN television and radio network (in nearby Irondale). Tours of the EWTN radio and television facilities are scheduled.
