CBA Calls for Moment of Silence

Issued to membership and asks stations to participate Friday morning

The Connecticut Broadcasters Association has released a memo to its membership requesting a 26-second moment of silence on Friday, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Mike Rice, president of the CBA, issued the release.

The text reads:

Dear CBA Colleagues: The CBA Board is asking that all radio and TV stations in the state, in cooperation with the Governor’s request for common recognition by the entire state of the Newtown tragedy, go SILENT at precisely 9:30 a.m. this Friday, December 21st. We will leave the front and back formatting up to the individual stations. Several stations have already pledged to 26 seconds of silence. We will leave the precise length to the individual stations. We only ask that the SILENCE begin at the precise clock time of 9:30 a.m., Friday, December 21st, 2012.
