CBC/Radio-Canada has integrated all of its English-language platforms, including television, radio and CBC.ca, as of late November. The move follows a similar integration of francophone operations in 2005.

“CBC/Radio-Canada recognizes that in order to keep pace with emerging trends in media usage, it needs to transform from a collection of individual platform-specific networks into an integrated provider of content,” said President and CEO Robert Rabinovitch. “Increasingly, Canadians are consuming their news, information and entertainment programs through the technological platform of their choice.”

“If our audiences are to maintain access to quality Canadian content, CBC/Radio-Canada will need to adapt,” he said.

Richard Stursberg, executive vice-president of CBC Television, assumes the new role of executive vice-president, English Services.

Following the recently announced retirement of Jane Chalmers, vice-president of CBC Radio, Jennifer McGuire, executive director of programming for CBC Radio, was promoted to the new position of executive director of CBC Radio with an expanded portfolio of responsibilities. She will report to Richard Stursberg.
