CBS Radio Fires Up Sports Streaming

Makes use of national sports network and local sports radio stations

In an example of repurposing assets, CBS Radio and its CBS Sports Radio operation have started a streamer for material from its 14 local sports radio stations along with the national operation.

Called CBS Sports Radio Roundup, it will contain “breaking news, live interviews and opinionated analysis from” CBS Radio sports properties and personalities, according to a release. In addition, it will take “listeners from station to station for the latest on stories trending nationally and discussions with the biggest names in sports as they’re happening.”

There will be a website and an app. Live content will be available from 6 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays with a lineup of hosts — DJ Sixsmith (6–10 a.m. ET), Greg Larnerd (10 a.m.–2 p.m. ET) and Bryan Foti (2–6 p.m. ET).

Besides CBS Sports Radio, content will be provided by: WZGC(FM), Atlanta; WJZ(FM), Baltimore; WBZ(FM), Boston; WSCR(AM), Chicago; WKRK(FM), Cleveland; KRLD(FM), Dallas; WXYT(FM), Detroit; KILT(AM), Houston; WQAM(AM), Miami; WFAN(AM/FM), New York; WIP(FM), Philadelphia; KDKA(FM), Pittsburgh; KHTK(AM), Sacramento; and WJFK(FM), Washington.
