CBS Radio’s Philadelphia sports talk and talk stations, WIP(FM) and WPHT(AM), are working with the Phillies baseball club for the Phantastic Auction.
Starting Friday at 8 a.m., and lasting almost two weeks, the Phantastic Auction will feature 55 items involving the Philadelphia Phillies players, coaches and related entities. Benefits go to Phillies Charities, the charitable arm of the Philadelphia Phillies, which is active in the region. Some of the proceeds will be directed to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association. Last year’s auction collected almost $130,000.
The two stations will promote the auction along with providing a special preview of the auction items on Friday.
A release said, “This online, 13-day event gives fans nationwide the chance to bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences with Phillies players and alumni, trips, memorabilia and many other unique opportunities.”
The teasing lead of the release said, “Ever want to have a kid’s sleepover in the Phillies Clubhouse, play a video game on PhanaVision against A.J. Burnett, enjoy lunch with Ryne Sandberg in his office or have a private hitting clinic with Chase Utley?”
