CC Portland Names Mark Adams VP of Programming

Dastur again honored with Billboard’s Women in Music award

Sharon Dastur, WHTZ(FM) Z100

Mark Adams will join Clear Channel Portland from CBS Radio in Houston, where he most recently served as vice president of music programming. He joined CBS Radio in April 2008 and has also served as operations manager and program director.

Adams previously worked in the Portland market from 2000–2008. During that time, he served as program director of KXJM(FM) and operations manager for KXL(AM). His previous experience also includes roles in the San Francisco, Milwaukee and Fresno markets.

Clear Channel Portland owns and operates KEX(AM), KFBW(FM), KKCW(FM), KKRZ(FM), KLTH(FM), KPOJ(AM) and KXJM.

In other Clear Channel news, WHTZ(FM) Z100 Program Director Sharon Dastur was nominated for Billboard’s “Women in Music” Award for the fourth year running.

The award considers individual achievements and leadership within the music industry. The award ceremony and luncheon are a part of Billboard’s Power Player Series. This year’s was held Dec. 10 in New York City.

Dastur has overseen day-to-day operations at Clear Channel New York’s Z100 for over 15 years, in additional to building Z100’s Jingle Ball into an international brand, a release explained. She also serves as the program director for the Nick Radio channel on iHeartRadio.

Clear Channel New York owns and operates WAXQ(FM), WHTZ, WKTU(FM), WLTW(FM), WWPR(FM).
