Houston’s KQBT names Melendez as PD, announces talent line up for radio station

Rob Anthony

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Providence announced today that Rob Anthony has been named operations manager and program director.

As operations manager and program director, Anthony will oversee all programming and operations for the market’s four stations — WHJY(FM), WSNE(FM), WWBB(FM) and WHJJ(AM).

He will also continue in his role as regional programming manager for New England, which includes Manchester and Portsmouth, N.H., as well as Springfield and Worcester, Mass.

Mara Melendez

In Houston, Clear Channel’s KQBT(FM) has chosen Mara Melendez as the station’s first program director.

Melendez most recently programmed 103.5 The Beat in Miami after time in New York, where she helped to launch WWPR(FM).

93.7 The Beat features the nationally syndicated morning show The Breakfast Club from 5–9 a.m. UB Rodriguez takes over from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Rudy Rush gets Houston through the afternoon and on the drive home from 2–6 p.m. 93.7 The Beat evenings feature Devi Dev, a familiar voice in Houston, from 6–10 p.m.

Clear Channel Houston owns and operates KBME(AM), KQBT(FM), KODA(FM), KPRC(AM), KTBZ(FM) and KTRH(AM).
