The Consumer Electronics Association is encouraging people to participate in its new mobile alerting working group.
The Fixed and Mobile Alert Warning Devices Working Group aims to link life-saving emergency alerts from authorized originators to consumer electronics products.
Members have begun to revise CEA-CEB25, best practices for implementing Common Alerting Protocol-based alerts for CE devices.
GSSNet EVP Matthew Straeb chairs the group, which he says hopes to help manufacturers more easily integrate emergency alerts into their devices.
The first teleconference is May 13. To join the group, contact Alayne Bell.
