Several interesting sales of radio stations have crossed the Radio World station sales desk recently.
In a twist on the recent college radio station sales news, usually bad, Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J., sold its WNTI(FM). The good news is that it was sold to another school, the University of Pennsylvania. The price was a cool $1.75 million. Brokers were Greg Guy and Jason James of Patrick Communications.
In Arkansas, the Central Arkansas Radio Group has closed on a cluster of stations in the Hot Springs, Ark., market — KBHS(AM), KHRK(FM), KLAZ(FM) and KYRC(FM). The seller was Noalmark Broadcasting Corp. The price was $1.6 million and the deal was brokered by Bill Whitley of Media Services Group.
The ever-acquisitive Educational Media Foundation has purchased WFRW(FM) in Battle Ground, Ind., from Christian Radio Friends Inc. for $300,000. The broker was Greg Guy of Patrick Communications.
And in translator CP sales, Eastern Airwaves has acquired W24CE (97.3 MHz) in Southern Pines, N.C. for $40,000 from Friends of Public Radio Inc. Bob Heymann of Media Services Group represented the buyer.
