CES Show Registration Opens

Consumer Electronics Show expects 120,000 attendees

Usually drawing in a big crowd, filling the massive halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center along with numerous hotel ballrooms and other exhibition spaces scattered across Las Vegas, the CES Show runs the gamut from consumer broadcast technology to neatest “must have” gadgets as well as consumer household appliances such as washers and dryers.

Also of interest to broadcasters is that the CES continues to be heavily involved in setting broadband and telecommunications policy.

As traditional, the show is in January, Jan. 6–9 to be exact. The CES is encouraging early registration. For qualified professionals that would be free registration. Later registration will be $100 until Dec. 31. It will be $200 for the late birds.

CES is also encouraging registrants to lock in bargain rates at Las Vegas hotels.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is expected to deliver a keynote address.
