Charlie Slezak Dies

Delmarva Broadcasting employees are mourning the death of engineer Charlie Slezak.
Friends and co-workers say Slezak collapsed suddenly and died this past weekend. He had worked for the Delaware-based group for 26 years. He is survived by his wife Nancy and two children.
His obituary from Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes said Slezak, 53, was president of both the Chesapeake Bay Radio Association and the Delaware Repeater Association. His first professional job was as a radio announcer at WPTN(AM) in Cookeville, Tenn. He also worked at WNRK(AM) in Newark, Del., before coming to WDEL(AM)/WSTW(FM) in Wilmington, where he DJ-ed as Chris Stevens. He was an active ham, N3OUT.
