A federal court in Canada has ruled that CHOI(FM) in Quebec City may stay on the air while the station appeals its license revocation. The appeals process is expected to last through next spring, according to the Toronto Star.
CHOI licensee Genex Communications is appealing the license revocation by the Canadian version of the FCC. The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission decided to revoke the license as of next Tuesday for what officials termed a history of going beyond indecency, to libel and slander, and lack of candor.
According to the report, CHOI has placed its most controversial jock on a profanity delay.
