CHUM Ltd. in Canada signed a deal with RadioScape Ltd. to develop a digital radio receiver for its proposed service, CHUM Subscription Radio Canada.
CHUM’s application for a license for a national multi-channel terrestrial subscription radio system, CSRC, is before regulators. RadioScape would supply broadcasting and receiving technology and equipment under the proposed system.
If approved, CSRC would eventually offer 100 channels of content, within Canadian content restrictions, for a monthly fee of $9.95.
