Clear Channel Expands Reach to Drivers

Total Out of Home Network provides traffic on digital billboards

Drivers on the go continue to be a key target for Clear Channel. The company has extended the reach of its traffic information with a program called Total Out of Home Network featuring traffic data presented on its networks of digital billboards. The program kicked off in Chicago; the company plans to expand it to more markets.

President/EVP of Clear Channel Global Media Sales John Partilla stated in the announcement that the Total Out of Home Network is an example of how Clear Channel’s integrated platform — across radio, outdoor, web and mobile —offers advertisers more access to consumers on the go.

Illinois Lottery signed on as the first sponsor in Chicago with a 13-week ad campaign running on 19 digital billboards in the metro area. In addition to traffic information, the digital boards will feature Illinois Lottery’s winning Powerball Jackpot numbers every day.

The traffic data comes from Total Traffic Network’s reporters, traffic cameras, aircraft, broadcast towers and strategic partners. Clear Channel’s traffic network provides traffic info for 125 metropolitan areas in four countries, and the company estimates the data is used by 125 million people.
