Clear Channel Gains Third Automaker for Traffic Service

Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network inked a multi-year agreement to provide its real-time traffic data on 2008 Volvo XC90, S40, V50, C70 and C30 models equipped with factory-installed navigation systems.

Clear Channel has similar deals with BMW and Mini.

Real-time traffic-capable Volvos began rolling onto U.S. show room floors last month.

In addition to automakers, Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network provides traffic information to navigation systems and other devices made by Garmin, TomTom, Navigon, Mio Technology, Delphi, Kenwood, Clarion, Harmon Kardon, Panasonic, Siemens, Cobra Electronics and others. Clear Channel also supplies traffic content to media outlets including Citadel Broadcasting, Univision and Fox Interactive Media.

Clear Channel uses its own reporters, traffic cameras, helicopters and airplanes to provide the service to 125 metropolitan areas.
