Clear Channel Names Coles SVP West Programming

CC Memphis names Steel operations manager, regional programming manager

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment has tapped Tony Coles to be its new senior vice president of programming for the West Region, effective March 15. He will report to Senior Vice President of Operations Brian Olson and will be based out of Chicago.

With over a quarter century of radio experience, Coles has held on-air, programming and management positions, most recently serving in a dual role as vice president of programming for Clear Channel Chicago and National Hot AC brand manager. Prior to that, he served as Clear Channel’s regional vice president of programming for the West and operations manager in Portland, Ore.

“Programming is my passion and I am thrilled to be working with some of the best teams in the country,” said Coles. “The West Region has strong brands and I look forward to building upon their successes.”

Clear Channel Chicago will now begin a search for a new Vice President of Programming.

Devin Steel

Clear Channel Memphis says Devin Steel has been named operations manager and regional programming manager for Jackson and Laurel/Hattiesburg, Miss.

Steel, who previously served as director of urban programming, will now oversee operations for Clear Channel Memphis’ seven-station cluster. In addition, he will now add new regional programming responsibilities. Steel has been an on-air host at WHRK(FM) since 2001 and will continue hosting weekdays from 3–7 p.m.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to expand my career at Clear Channel Media and Entertainment while also staying in Memphis, my hometown,” said Steel.

Clear Channel Memphis owns and operates KJMS(FM), WHRK, WHAL(FM), WDIA(AM).
