Clear Channel Names Free Advertising Winners

Agencies win for outstanding creative

How much is good “creative” worth?

For several agencies this week, the answer is “quite a bit,” at least in terms of ad space and time.

Clear Channel announced winners of its “$1 million in free advertising” awards. The recipients for best large, mid-sized and small agency, receiving $300,000 each, were BBDO New York, BBH and Barrie D’Rozario Murphy respectively. Ogilvy & Mather New York won $100,000 worth of ad exposure for cause-oriented work in the category of best national public service campaign.

The recipients were announced at the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ O’Toole Awards Ceremony in New York.

Clear Channel said it sought to recognize outstanding work being done in advertising creative. The company also is using this campaign to emphasize its “multichannel assets” including radio, digital and outdoor platforms.
