Clear Channel Plans Disney Park Campaign

If a radio group was going to celebrate the history of Disney theme parks, you’d think the news would come from Disney’s ABC Radio.
But it’s Clear Channel Radio that is launching a nationwide promotional campaign, “Disney’s Happiest Celebration on Earth.” It is tied to the 50th anniversary of Disney theme parks. The promotion starts on CC stations, plus the “Delilah” and “American Top 40” programs, on Feb. 28.
There are 10 parks now, including Disneyland Resort in California, the oldest.Hong Kong Disneyland opens in September.
A call-in component of the radio promotion will award vacation packages for four people to Disney World and Disneyland.
Clear Channel Radio CEO John Hogan said Disney and its theme parks “have introduced an entirely new genre of family entertainment that now spans the globe.”
