Clear Channel Points to Ratings Support of 'Less Is More'

Clear Channel says that, according to Arbitron numbers, 20 of its stations in the first set of markets in the spring book saw “dramatic increases” in TSL.
In a press release titled “Less Is More Is Working,” the broadcaster cited specific stations including KIIS(FM) in Los Angeles, which it said moved to No. 1 and increased its time spent listening among persons 12+ by 17.6% compared to a year ago.
Other stations cited include KFI(AM) and KTLK(AM) in Los Angeles, with TSL up by what the company called “an incredible” 141.2% and 5.9%, respectively; New York’s WLTW(FM), up 9.7%; Chicago’s WGCI(FM), up 15.6%; and Detroit, where it said five of seven stations increased while the rest held steady.
