Clear Channel Puts RDS to Work with Matchbox Twenty Promotion

We reported back in January that you’d be hearing more from a company called dMarc Networks.
Now the data services management and wireless data distribution firm said the band matchbox twenty and Clear Channel Entertainment are using the data-broadcasting technology for concert promotion in the L.A. area.
dMarc’s radio data service system sends text message broadcasts to screens on RDS-enabled car radio receivers.
“The partnership among dMarc, matchbox twenty and Clear Channel will provide real-time visual ‘Radio Text’ broadcasts of matchbox twenty’s upcoming concert information automatically every time a matchbox twenty song is played on a Clear Channel radio station in the greater Los Angeles area,” the company stated.
dRDS also provides “Radio Text” broadcasts of current song title and artist information as well as news, traffic, weather, sports and AMBER Alerts.
