Clear Channel Radio Expands Total Traffic Network

95 cities now get the service.

Clear Channel Radio said its Total Traffic Network is delivering service to an additional 15 markets, for a total of 95 North American markets.

Clear Channel delivers traffic data over the Radio Data System Traffic Message Channel for navigation-equipped vehicles and devices.

New markets include Binghamton, N.Y.; Charleston, S.C.; El Paso, Texas; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Honolulu; Melbourne, Fla.; Mobile, Ala.; Modesto, Calif.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Panama City, Fla.; Pensacola, Fla.; Spokane, Wash.; Stockton, Calif.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

In late 2007, 10 markets were added to its coverage area. Since then, the company said, the traffic service has signed a multi-year agreement with Volvo and expanded its relationship with Mio Technologies; a half million people signed up for the real-time traffic service. Also, ASUS is using CCTTN data to introduce a portable navigation device.

Jeff Littlejohn is executive vice president of distribution development for Clear Channel Radio.
