Clear Channel RVP Sledge Promoted to VP, Country

Clear Channel Radio promoted programming executive Alan Sledge to the position of vice president, Clear Channel Country. The company says the promotion is an effort to increase ratings success and its prominence in country radio. Sledge has served for the last four years as regional vice president, Southwest and director of programming operations for Clear Channel Radio’s Phoenix cluster. He will continue in these roles.
Sledge is credited with developing country programming in major U.S. markets including Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco and Seattle, and was recently re-elected director and board member of the Country Music Association for the sixth consecutive year. Clear Channel Radio says he will be focused on assisting local programmers and regional staffs with content creation in his new position.
