Clear Channel said spring Arbitron data show “dramatic” increases in time spent listening in the top 50 markets, which the broadcaster interprets as “another positive indicator that the company’s Less Is More initiative is creating a more favorable environment for listeners.”
“Radio listeners in the top 25 U.S. markets and across all formats spent an average of 14.5% more time listening to Clear Channel Radio stations, vs. Spring 2004,” the company stated.
Separately, the company said its online network has become a top music destination. “In 2005 alone, Clear Channel Radio Network’s streaming traffic increased an eye-popping 177%, according to the June comScore/Arbitron Online Ratings Report,” it stated.
