At the recent 2006 Telematics Detroit Show, Clear Channel’s Total Traffic Network won the award for Best Telematics Mobile Content Provider.
In an internal e-mail obtained by RW Online, Jeff Littlejohn, EVP/Distribution Development for Clear Channel Radio and Lance Locher, SVP for Clear Channel Traffic state that their product beat out several competitors for the award, including InfoUSA, Mediamobile, MobileGates and Tele Atlas.
“Additionally, this marks an important milestone in our goal to make our content available via an even wider means of distribution,” state Littlejohn and Locher, who say Total Traffic Network now provides RDS-TMC traffic content to a potential 130 million listeners in 49 markets.
By the end of this year, Clear Channel plans to expand the traffic service to its HD Radio stations.
