Clear Channel’s Hogan Promoted

New job is chairman and CEO of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment

John Hogan, who had the titles of president and CEO of Clear Channel Radio, has been promoted to chairman and CEO of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, the successor to that radio business. The promotion is effective immediately.

Hogan became Clear Channel Radio’s president and CEO in August of 2002. He has been with the company since 1999 when it acquired Jacor Communications, Hogan’s then-employer. He was a senior vice president at Jacor.

He is credited with significant involvement in the company’s consolidation and reorganization, along with pushing efforts into new digital markets such as Internet radio and mobile apps.

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is part of CC Media Holdings. The company operates 850 radio stations, provides programming and service via its Premiere Networks and Total Traffic Networks; it owns the Katz Media Group rep firm among other businesses.
