Clip Interactive has activated the FM chip on more devices — the HTC One M9, HTC Desire 610, Sharp Aquos Crystal and the LG G3.
The FM chip — hardware that’s installed in certain Android smartphones — allows the local FM broadcasts to be received through a mobile phone.
The Clip Interactive application technology connects to the chip, so the user can tune to local stations without having to stream, which can deplete data allowances and consume more battery life, according to the company.
Company CTO Peter Shoebridge promises further news about more devices in the future.
