CNN’s Costello to Give Keynote

Anchor will address National Student Electronic Media Convention

Carol Costello, anchor for “CNN Newsroom,” will deliver the keynote at the National Student Electronic Media Convention Oct. 27 in Atlanta.

The convention is sponsored by College Broadcasters, Inc., which is made up of students involved in radio, television, webcasting and related electronic media, representing about 200 member stations.

Costello anchors the weekday edition of “CNN Newsroom.” She previously contributed to “The Situation Room” and anchored “CNN Daybreak.”

She is an Emmy award-winner, in addition to being part of the CNN’s Peabody Award-winning coverage of the Gulf Oil Spill, the 2008 presidential election and Hurricane Katrina. She also reported on the 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech, the tsunami disaster in South Asia and the Casey Anthony murder trial.

According to CBI, Costello is one of many industry professionals scheduled to appear during the convention, slated for Oct. 25–27 at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel. Representatives from CNN radio and television, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Public Broadcasting Atlanta, as well as reporters and anchors from Atlanta’s ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC affiliates who will also present sessions.
