College Radio DJ Winner to Head to Zurich

IBiquity Digital, CMJ, MIxcloud.com sponsor trip to IRF for best radio jockey

The International Radio Festival has launched its second annual “Search for the Best College Radio Jockey and Radio Show.” The contest is sponsored by HD Radio developer iBiquity Digital.

Also supporting are CMJ and Mixcloud.com. The winning radio jockey will perform at the IRF in Zurich, Switzerland, held Sept. 4–8.

The competition is open to all college radio jockeys in the United States and Canada who submit a radio show for consideration by July 15. Complete contest details can be viewed here.

The contest’s inaugural winner was Angie Szani, aka “Type A,” of WSOU(FM), Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J.

The International Radio Festival is a four-day event for global radio that brings hundreds of radio professionals together to network and share formats and audience preferences. DJs from 30 countries will convene at the festival and broadcast their contemporary radio shows live.
