We recently reported about the Federal Communication Commission’s efforts to update its rules governing tower construction, marking and lighting.
These proposed revisions are intended to improve compliance with these rules and help the FCC enforce them more effectively, helping to better ensure aviation safety. These proposed revisions (PDF) would also remove outdated requirements.
Those proposals have now been published in the Federal Register, triggering deadlines for public comments. Initial comments are due (WT Docket No. 10-88 and RM 11349) by July 20 and replies on Aug. 19.
