The commission’s Enforcement Bureau has finalized a $10,000 fine against a man in Florida for running an unlicensed transmitter on 95.9 MHz in Lauderhill, Fla.
As we reported earlier, the bureau in July issued a notice of apparent liability to Christopher Myers. The commission said Myers did not respond to that notice, so it now has issued the fine as proposed.
In 2008, the Miami office had issued a notice to him for operating an FM broadcast station on a different frequency — 91.7 MHz — out of his condo in Lauderhill, Fla.
The following year its agents traced a 95.9 MHz signal to him; this year it again responded to another complaint about a 95.9 operation and says he was the source.
