Broadcasters may get a surprise from the FCC before year-end.
Both media ownership and LPFM are topics on the commission’s public meeting next Tuesday, right after the Thanksgiving break.
According to an agenda containing eight items released this week, the commission is considering proposals to expand the LPFM service as well as initiatives designed to increase station ownership by minorities and women.
The items were proposed by Chairman Kevin Martin earlier this year and have been awaiting a vote for several months.
