The Senate Commerce Committee is set to vote Thursday on the nominations for FCC commissioners, and to extend Michael Powell’s term as chairman. The full Senate could vote on the item that day, but that’s not a given.
Commissioner Harold Furchtgott-Roth said Wednesday that after leaving the FCC, he will be joining the American Enterprise Institute as a visiting fellow and he plans to write a book on telecommunications policy.
